Sleep Tips

Last month I watched an awesome docuseries called The Real Skinny On Fat. One of the episodes was on sleep and circadian rhythm. I got some nice little nuggets out of it that have been helping me feel as rested as a mom of five kids can.

1. Blue Light Blocker
Set your phone to turn this on 2 hours before your bedtime. If you're watching TV, try a set of glasses like these


2. Go to bed between 10 and 11 pm if possible
3. Wake up at the same time every day- even weekends and holidays
4. Stop eating by 7 pm
5. No caffeine past 2pm
6. No alcohol after 7pm
7. No exercise after 6pm unless it helps you to relax
8. A warm/hot bath or shower (or sauna trip) before bed can help with a body temperature shift that is helpful for good sleep
